    The League of Women Voters of Corvallis invites you to attend our Legislative Update meeting. The group of Oregon legislators invited to participate this year include Senator Sara Gelser-Blouin, Senator Dick Anderson, Representative and Speaker of the House Dan Rayfield, Representative David Gomberg, Representative Shelly Boshart-Davis.

    Sustainability Fair & Town Hall

    Town Hall: 7 to 9 pm
    OSU, CH2M HILL Alumni Center

    The League of Women Voters will have a table at the Sustainability Fair from 5 to 7 pm. The fair is free to attend and registration is not necessary.

    Following the Fair will be the Town Hall meeting from 7 - 9 pm. This year’s theme is “The Arts: A Portal to Sustainability”. A highlight of the program will be the keynote presentations by local leaders of the arts:

    Workforce Housing - How can we bring more to Corvallis?

    The program panel will focus on workforce housing – the missing middle.

    Panel Members

    • Helen Higgins, Executive Director of the Corvallis Boys & Girls Club, will discuss why we need more workforce housing.
    • Jackie Keogh, Executive Director of Rooted Homes, a nonprofit organization in Central Oregon that is committed to providing environmentally sustainable and permanently affordable housing. She’ll discuss what is working in Central Oregon and why.
    • Eli Spevak founded Orange Spot, a housing development company pioneering new models of green infill housing in Portland and beyond. He will discuss the many ways to create affordable green housing and how to make creative use of infill.
