Our first order of business in November was to voice support for Shelley Ries as our liaison with the league board.

We continued the discussion on how to frame our March program.  We plan to present a program that addresses ways to encourage the development of more work force housing.  Corvallis is becoming – some say it already is – a community that is made up of senior homeowners and student renters. Our younger, more diverse work force members are being shut out of the housing market.

We will share actions that can improve access to affordable, sustainable, livable housing. These actions can include changes in our land use regulations, pre-approved building plans, early infrastructure development and other ideas already being used in many Oregon communities. Stay tuned as we develop our program and identify speakers.

Our committee is always on the lookout for new members. If you have an interest in housing, please contact me, Karyle Butcher.  Our committee meets by Zoom the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
