    Festival Latino

Timber Linn Memorial Park 900 Price Rd SE, Albany, United States
The Linn Benton Hispanic Advisory Committee’s mission is to promote collaborative efforts to improve the quality and/or resources and services available to the Latino communities of Linn and Benton Counties.
Festival Latino will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, 12pm to 4pm, at Timber Linn Memorial Park.

This Festival Latino is the 19th annual event, bringing the community together to celebrate and learn about Latino cultures. The 2024 Festival Latino is free to all and will have fun filled activities, dancing, music, cultural performances, food, and a resource fair.

The goal of Festival Latino is for every family attending to have a fun filled day and to leave with knowledge of resources available to them while at the same time have a wonderful experience and creating memories.

The League has the opportunity to table at this event to get word out about what we do as well as recruit new members. We have activities (a spinner and civics questions) and materials (poster of Ward map for the many people who do not know what Ward they are in and who their City Councilor is).

No previous tabling experience needed. This is a great way to get a taste of involvement with the League!

Please email [email protected] to volunteer for a shift!

    Undivide Us Movie Showing

Corvallis-Benton County Public Library 645 NW Monroe Ave, Corvallis, OR, United States

The League of Women Voters of Corvallis is pleased to host a screening of "Undivide Us" - an award-winning documentary that is being shown and discussed in towns and cities throughout the country. Plan to join us on Wednesday, September 18, at 7 pm at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library to watch the film and participate in a follow-up discussion.

"Undivide Us" challenges the idea that citizens who disagree are not capable of civil conversation and demonstrates the truth that, even in our differences, the American experiment is still alive and well. The film features six focus groups in three American cities, exploring perceived polarization and uncovering the potential for healing conversation, mutual respect, and democracy at its best.

To learn more about the film and to watch the trailer, click here.

We look forwarding to seeing you on September 18th!
