In February 2025 our chapter had 118 members. The committee’s focus this year is to get the members (and especially new members) more involved with the chapter and to encourage meeting attendees to join.  These are the ways we have pursued this goal:

  1. In conjunction with renewing or joining we have asked what committees or volunteer activities a member is interested in.  This information has been given to the committee chairmen so that they can contact the member to join the committee or work on an issue or job.
  2. Held two orientation meetings for new members and those that have requested our email. We have recruited members onto the board and committees from this group.
  3. Sent a welcome email to all new members and encouraged them to join a committee. We had 17 new members join in 2024 and 2025.
  4. Sent an email encouraging all people that requested to be on our email list to join. Since the beginning of 2025 we have had 37 requests.
  5. On the renewal forms we added a question to determine member’s preferred communication mode.
  6. Invite non-members to sign in at meetings.  We have sent emails encouraging those people to join.
  7. Emailed and phoned non-renewing members in December to encourage renewal, with some positive responses.

Beginning in February, National LWV took over the membership renewal and joining process.  Learn more here.
