The Bylaws Committee recommends that the LWVC membership adopt the following revisions to the League of Women Voters of Corvallis Bylaws, as amended May 2019:
- Create one class of membership for people at least 16 years of age.
- Eliminate the position of Second Vice-president and allow two people to share the positions of President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer.
- Change the fiscal year to July 1 to June 30 with the terms for officers, board and Nominating Committee to run from July 1 to June 30.
- Create a process for removing board members who do not carry out applicable laws and regulations or follow LWV bylaws, mission, policies, principles, positions, standards and procedures.
- Clarify the filling of vacancies for officers and board members.
- Bring the criteria and process for electronic meetings and votes in line with ORS 65.343.
- Create a Financial Review Committee to review the Treasurer’s books within 120 days after the close of the fiscal year.
- Clarify that the Treasurer is an ex-officio non-voting member of the Budget Committee and may not serve as chair.
- Establish a process for the distribution of the LWVC’s assets upon dissolution.
