LWV Corvallis members at the 2023 Open Streets with a table full of information

The League has the opportunity to table at two upcoming events. This will enable us to get word out about what we do as well as recruit new members. We have activities (a spinner and civics questions) and materials (poster of Ward map for the many people who do not know what Ward they are in and who their City Councilor is).

No previous tabling experience needed. This is a great way to get involved in the League, even if you haven’t been involved much in the past.

Please email [email protected] if you are able to help in either of these endeavors:

  • Open Streets, July 21, 11am-3pm, (Garfield Park to Cloverland Park) – Open Streets Corvallis is a free street festival that re-imagines our most shared public spaces โ€“ streets and parks โ€“ as places where people walk, bike, and play. For one day each summer, over a mile of neighborhood streets are closed to motorized traffic so that people may use them for walking, rolling, dancing, playing, and socializing. Activity hubs in public parks along the route include local food and drink, live music, giant-sized games, and more. Neighbors, community organizations, and businesses are invited to host interactive activities.
  • Festival Latino, September 8, 12-4pm, Timber Linn Memorial Park in Albany – This is put on by the Linn Benton Hispanic Advisory Committee. This Festival Latino is the 19th annual event in which they bring the community together to celebrate and learn about the Latino culture. The 2024 Festival Latino is free to all and will have fun filled activities, dancing, music, cultural performances, food, and a resource fair.
