The shortage of affordable housing in Corvallis affects all of us. Home values continue to rise but salaries do not keep pace. For many people, housing costs in Corvallis exceed 43% of their income. Consequently, more middle-income people and families choose to live outside of our city. This results in lost revenue in taxes, lost sales by local business, and damage to the environment from an increased reliance on cars as the main mode of transportation.
League’s Housing Committee will present a program on how the lack of affordable housing is harmful to our community and offer some possible solutions.
Come to our program on November 16 to learn about the issues and be inspired by the possibilities.
