The League of Women Voters of Corvallis convened for our annual Soup Social and Priority Setting Meeting on January 13th. 25 League members in attendance agreed to support the National League in a 2026 campaign called:
Women Defend Democracy: Democracy Under Siege
To empower the organization to act decisively to protect and defend our democracy. The campaign will focus on:
- Voting Rights
- Election Protection
- Redistricting
- Individual Liberties
- Immigration
- The Presidency
For issues facing the Corvallis area, we agreed on the following three top priorities:
- Landfill Expansion
- Homelessness and Housing Affordability
- Need for greater Public Participation
