    The evening kicks off with a trivia game and prize drawing at 5:30 pm, followed by the presentation at 6:00 pm, with time for audience questions.

    This month’s talk, “What’s Happening Downtown? Inside Corvallis’ Revitalization Efforts,” features Deann Garcia, President of the Downtown Corvallis Organization. Garcia will share insights into the organization’s work to support the economic and cultural vitality of downtown Corvallis, including projects like The Plaza and community events such as Friday Lights and the upcoming Corkvallis! wine walk on May 16. She will also discuss her role on the Downtown Vitality Strategy Task Force.

    Come early or stay after to grab a drink or a bite and connect with others in the community. All are welcome!

    Secretary of State Tobias Read, Senator Gelser Blouin, and Representative Finger McDonald are hosting an informational evening to discuss voting and this year's elections. This is not a League sponsored event but we wanted to spread the word about the important event which will provide information about voting and this year's elections.

    LWVOR Council Meeting: May 16, 2026

    The League of Women Voters of Oregon is hosting the 2026 Council on Saturday, May 16. This one-day hybrid event offers both in-person and virtual opportunities to connect with League members from across the state, help shape League priorities, and hear from insightful speakers.

    An optional, informal reception and networking event will be held on Friday, May 15 at 5:00 PM for all registered participants.

    The official business session—including voting—will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Registration includes access to both days.

    The League of Women Voters of Corvallis may send up to nine delegates to this Council. If you are interested in representing LWV Corvallis, please complete the application form by Saturday, April 12. Anyone who would like to register as an Observer can register here.

    May Tap Talk: Safe Streets & Roads for All

    Rory Rowan, Transportation Division Manager at the City of Corvallis Public Works, will speak about the Safe Streets and Roads for All project.

    From Fall 2024 through Spring 2026, the City of Corvallis led a planning effort to enhance road safety for everyone who walks, bikes, rolls, uses transit or drives in the city. Come and learn about the Transportation Safety Action Plan that was developed using data to identify where and why crashes happen in our community and the solutions that have been proposed to reduce crashes that result in fatalities or serious injuries. 

    This event begins with a Trivia Quiz at 5:30 PM, followed by the presentation at 6:00 PM.
