    The League of Women Voters of Corvallis is pleased to co-sponsor this community Town Hall on Universal Health Care. This interactive session will explore:

    • What are the current gaps in our health care system?
    • What additional challenges may arise with cuts in federal funding?
    • What is Oregon’s Universal Health Plan Governance Board proposing?

    Community members will have the opportunity to hear directly from experts engaged in this work and to submit questions in advance or during the event.

    Mid-Willamette Braver Angels Presents Workshop: Skills for Disagreeing Better

    The League of Women Voters is committed to fostering civility in public discourse. Because of this, we are letting people know about on this upcoming event by Braver Angels that promotes civil discourse.

    Mid-Willamette Braver Angels will host an in-person Skills for Disagreeing Better workshop designed to help participants engage more constructively across political differences.

    This free workshop (registration required) offers practical tools for:

    • Understanding the values and concerns of those with differing political views
    • Communicating respectfully across disagreement
    • Finding areas of common ground

    Participants will learn essential skills for navigating challenging conversations in ways that strengthen relationships and civic dialogue.

    LWV Corvallis to Participate in March 12, 2026 Sustainability Fair & Town Hall

    Sustainability Fair: 5:00 - 7:00 PM (no registration required)
    Town Hall: 7:00 - 9:00 PM (please register here!)

    As a partner organization of the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition, the League of Women Voters of Corvallis (LWVC) is taking advantage of two promotional opportunities at the 2026 Sustainability Fair and Town Hall. These back-to-back events will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the CH2MHill Alumni Center on the OSU campus, with the fair running from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and the Town Hall from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

    Our booth coordinator extraordinaire, Carla Olson, is organizing the LWVC exhibit – one of more than 60 interactive booths that will be part of the fair, which will also feature a delicious spread of local food prepared by New Morning Bakery and the toe-tapping sounds of the Nick Rivard/Ben Woodman Jazz Guitar Duo. Make sure to stop by the League booth to see what’s happening!

    Following the fair, participants are invited to move into the Alumni Center ballroom for the town hall portion of the evening. One of the highlights of this event will be the “Community Scrapbook”, a slide presentation that illustrates the many sustainability-related activities and projects that have happened in the past year in Corvallis and Benton County. If you plan to attend the Sustainability Town Hall, watch for the League’s submission, and be ready to cheer us on!

    Join us for our first ever LWV of Corvallis Tap Talk. Our featured speaker, Jeanette Hardison, is the founder and director of the Sustainability Coalition’s “No Food Left Behind” program. Her dynamic presentation will focus on the connection between wasted food and climate change. She will also share tips on how to keep good food from going to waste – and how you can save money in the process.

    Did you know our League has a position on Local Food? That will be part of the conversation, and there will be plenty of time for questions.
