Voter Education Report

The Voter Education Committee had an active year in 2024-2025! With Voting Rights being a central part of the LWV of Corvallis’ Transformation Workplan, we have brought together an engaged volunteer Committee to help move voter education, registration and turn-out forward. Key among the Committee’s efforts over the last year:

• During the general election, the LWV of Corvallis partnered with the Linn Benton Branch of the NAACP to hold 7 virtual forums for contested City Council, Benton County Commissioner, and House District 16 races.
• Volunteer Carla Olson leads continued efforts to engage local schools in student mock elections.
• Camille Freitag continues to oversee Vote 411 candidate submissions.
• Committee volunteers helped receive and distribute English and Spanish LWV Voter Pamphlets across Benton County.
• The Committee hosted a successful Candidate Fair for all candidates of the local and regional general election.
• Held numerous voter education tabling events (Festival Latino, Open Streets Corvallis, Sustainability Fair, etc.).

In the coming year the Committee is working on expanding partnerships in our community to increase voter education and turn-out, and focusing on youth engagement.
