A recall election enables voters to remove an elected official from office before the official’s term has ended. Considering the growing use of the recall and the critical need to understand the potential consequences of the recall process, the LWV of Oregon recently completed a study on the Recall Process – and now it’s our turn to weigh in.

Join us for a lively discussion at an upcoming Consensus Meeting to consider…

  • What is Oregon’s Recall process?
  • How do we compare with other states?
  • What can we do to address these key issues?
    • The financial cost burden on local governments
    • Tight timelines
    • Wide variation in filling vacated seats for different offices

There are two Consensus Meetings for you to choose from – one in the morning and one in the evening:

At the home of Dee Mooney, 555 NW Tyler Avenue, Corvallis

OR

Wednesday, December 18, 2024 – 7:00 to 8:30 pm
