On September 4, 2019, the Board members of the League of Women Voters of Corvallis voted to support the proposed 911 Service District.  Our support is based on the fact that this proposal meets our criteria for special taxing districts and on the League’s Tax and Revenue Policy. The League supports fair, equitable and stable tax and revenue policies which adequately fund services critical to Oregonians. Currently, our emergency 911 dispatch service operating on a 1983 agreement does not have the resources to meet the needs of the population in Benton County in 2019. The proposed district will serve all of Benton County, and  spreads the cost among all County tax payers. See  Voters Pamphlet for more information.
