The League of Women Voters has always been about promoting voting rights and protecting our democracy. Now, we are facing a national crisis, and we’re being called upon to defend our democracy, our basic rights, and the federal programs that support and protect us.
On Saturday, April 5, we participated in a national day of action called Hands Off!
Sponsored by more than 150 partner organizations, including LWVUS, Hands Off! provided an opportunity for us to come together to express our commitment to democracy and our resistance to authoritarianism. A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolence.
Thanks to those of you who joined us on Saturday from 12 noon to 3 pm on the lawn of the Benton County Courthouse.
We hope you are inspired to continue to take action.
