Restoring Democracy – Food & Agriculture: January 22, 2026
Are you concerned about the loss of federal funding that’s impacting community members who are food insecure? Or how decisions made at the federal level are impacting our local farms and farm workers?
If you answered “YES” to either of those questions, we hope you’ll join us for the fourth program in our Restoring Democracy series, “Food & Agriculture: National Issues through a Local Lens”.
Date: Thursday, January 22, 2026
Time: 6:30 – 8:15 PM
Location: Corvallis-Benton County Public Library
We’ll discuss issues such as:
- How are decisions that have been made by the president and Congress impacting our safety net programs related to food?
- How are tariffs, immigration policy, and other decisions made at the federal level impacting our farms – both nationally and locally?
- What can state and local agencies do to help?
Featured presenters are:
• Ryan McCambridge, Executive Director of Linn Benton Food Share
• Mica Contreras, Executive Director of Linn Benton Lincoln Health Equity Alliance
• Laura Bennett, Produce Sales Manager at Ejido Oso
Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. The program will also include opportunities for networking and for attendees to participate in small group discussions in response to what they’ve heard. Light refreshments will be served.
This event will be in-person only and not accessible online. However, the program will be recorded and available the following week on the LWV Corvallis YouTube channel. We hope you’ll be part of this important conversation!
The program is being co-sponsored by the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library.
