This past summer Gov. Brown announced support of a bill to cap greenhouse gas emissions; charge some of the state’s largest companies for their carbon output; and invest the proceeds into clean energy, mediation of climate impacts experienced by low-income and rural communities, communities of color, and impacted workers in Oregon. It is referred to as “cap and invest”.

Governor Brown currently has legislative work groups finalizing the bills details. It is a revision of the 2017 legislative session Senate Bill 1070 known as the Clean Energy Jobs Bill.
