DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, October 30\, 2025\nTime: 6:30 – 8:00 PM\nLocation: Corvallis-Benton County Public Library\, 645 NW Monroe Avenue | Corvallis\, OR\nNOTE: Register to attend virtually here. \nThe public is invited to a special program that marks the second program in the Restoring Democracy series that is being sponsored in 2025-26 by the League of Women Voters of Corvallis. “Immigration: A National Issue through a Local Lens” \nThe program will begin with a brief overview of the League’s national position on immigration\, followed by presentations that address what it means to live in a sanctuary state and city\, how local law enforcement interfaces with ICE\, and support services that are available for local immigrants. Featured presenters are: \n\nYema Measho\, local Immigration Attorney;\nJason Harvey\, Corvallis Chief of Police; and\nCassady Gilroy\, Executive Director of the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center.\n\n  \n \nAudience members will then have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. The program will also include opportunities for networking and for attendees to participate in small group discussions in response to what they’ve heard. Light refreshments will be served.
