DESCRIPTION:Join us for an important League process – reviewing the Child Care study and sharing your opinion so that LWVOR can create a position on Child Care. \nAt Convention 2021\, LWV of Washington County proposed a restudy of child care. Child care concerns have changed dramatically since our 1988 – Child Care In Oregon publication. Our advocacy position has not changed.  \nDownload the new study Caring for Our Children here.  \nLeague of Women Voters of Oregon is seeking consensus from local leagues across the state in order to develop an updated position.  Note: Consensus means a general agreement by members\, not a strict voting process. \nRead the study and mark your calendar to make your opinion count by attending one of the meetings we have planned to discuss the consensus questions: \n\nTuesday\, November 12th at 7:00 PM at the home of Connie Bozarth (conboz@comcast.net) or\nTuesday\, November 19th at 10:00 AM at the home of Ann Schauber (annschauber@gmail.com). \n\nEXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF THE NEW STUDY \nAn effective childcare system benefits the entire economy. In Oregon\, we have not done a good job of prioritizing child care needs and developing a strategic\, coordinated childcare plan. Usually\, the term “child care” suggests a picture of preschoolers in a classroom.
